econocult
any scheme or organization that promises quick financial rewards for little effort, esp. those that attempt to show a happy ‘community of users’. usually promotes itself with many (often over-emphatic) so-called personal testimonials.
examples of econocults:

“i earned over $20,000 in the first five minutes on the amazing crazy cash system!”
