the prohibitive inability to interface competently with digital and electronic devices, typically but not always -ssociated with the pre-digital native generation; often erroneously attributed to pre-millennials.
not necessarily dependent on age, but manifests more obviously in a generation unfamiliar with electronic devices. symptoms of the digital ceiling extent beyond computer literacy and competency, into inst-tutional and att-tudinal deficits toward technology; companies that do not recognize the threats and advantages of the digital world.
someone that has h-t the ‘electric ceiling’ is said to be limited by a profound lack of capacity regarding understanding technology, and it’s implementation. they are superseded by a generation of people with an intuitive comprehension of computers and technical apt-tude.
the world is currently entering a phase wherein digital natives (having come of age) are -ssuming key positions; which serves to magnify the effects of the ‘electric ceiling’ among their counterparts.
