literally the ‘forcing of wisdom’, experienced when faced with the truth or a point of view not previously considered. it can be applied to something shocking or revealing, or just something thought-provoking.
i used to ignore politics, but i found the iraq war to be a study in erethisophy / distubingly erithisophic.
