esfjs are natural people-persons and are very empathetic. they are highly attuned to the needs of others around them, which can make esfjs excellent party hosts/hostesses. in addition, they will often take an active role in supporting loved ones as those people pursue their goals. their dominant fe makes the esfj very facially and verbally expressive; lots of esfjs in popular culture tend to be actors/actresses and singers.

esfjs revolve around community and traditions. their preference of si over ne looks to established traditions and rules and upholding authority to form the way they think the world works. esfjs are focused primarily on the real world, as opposed to philosophies and theories.

nothing’s more exciting to an esfj than to create and plan ideas for social gatherings for themselves and others. this is a not a type that cares for deep, logical thinking or debating, unlike their dual ntp cousins, creating the esfj’s dislike of conflict. however, esfjs will stand up for themselves and others when necessary.

in relationships, esfjs are loyal and devoted. if they don’t feel this devotion and empathy is being reciprocated, the esfj can become very distraught; one of the most hurtful things to an esfj is not being wanted. esfjs need to understand their own personal worth, and realize that spending too much energy on others can drain them of energy for themselves.
