a holiday themed party where attendees gift the worst things they can find. each attendee must bring a wrapped and unmarked gift to be able to partic-p-te. similar to a “white elephant,” partic-p-nts draw numbers to designate the order for choosing gifts, although gift swapping is discouraged. evil elf originated in atlanta, ga, at the 2003 solinet holiday office party.
