1. a genre of movie that may seek (or in some cases pretend) to educate it’s viewers while playing on sensationalist themes or attempting to create controversy. ie: reefer madness, -ss-ssin of youth, the violent years.
2. a film that attempts to be educational, but is instead exploitative. sometimes intentional.
the word is a combination of education and exploitation
bob: reefer madness was great! i thought that movie was very insightful.
jane: yeah? well i disagree. that movie was just pure exploication.
