Fauxlimpic Sport

a painfully lame and/or artistic endeavor or game (not a sport) falsely given the status of an olympic medal sport, which while it may involve talent and skill, either does not involve actual athletic ability (such as curling, golf or archery), is dependent on subjective determinations of “style points” (such as ice dancing and rhythmic gymnastics), or uses an animal to do all the real work (equestrian).
following in the tradition of other non-sports like golf, archery, and equestrian being given status as olympic medal sports, the ioc has determined that the fauxlimpic sports of bowling, darts, and chess will be added as medal sports in time for the 2012 games.
