faux nostalgia. faking old things in an attempt to recapture the feeling of times gone past, especially of technology that has p-ssed.
hipstamatic pictures, just like the vinyl-static added to digital recordings, is prime fauxstalgia
1. a feeling of yearning for a time in the past, even though you may never have experienced that time yourself.
2. thinking the past was better than it was, simply because your future hasn’t turned out the way you wanted it to.
