the character itself, considering its name-sake, is an anthropomorphic happy meal box who is very energetic, jovial and wacky. the prime factor of this phobia is due to happy’s design, most notably his widened eyes which seem to have a permanent thousand mile stare, alongside his widened, forced and toothy smile, thus (unintentionally) creating a horrifying character with a look of pure malice and insanity permanently plastered on its face.
