1) flame bait is a message posted to a public internet discussion group, such as a forum, newsgroup or mailing list, with the intent of provoking an angry response (a “flame”) or argument over a topic the “troll” (original poster provoking angry response) often has no real interest in, and finds humour, or entertainment in reactions.

2) flame bait can be a person unfamiliar with a certain discussion/topic on an internet discussion group, possibly saying things that would provoke an angry, teasing, or overall negative response.

flame baiting is setting up a situation for you to get flamed usually on a forum. you don’t actually flame, but make it hard to respond without flaming. its setting people up on the internet so they look like the bad guy. generally looked down upon
ya know, an example of this is hard…

person on forums: blah blah blah
other guy: i smell… flame bait@@
one who’s actions (deliberate or otherwise) seem to attract the hatred of the rest of the forum; see flame. these people do not seem to learn from their actions and are delt with by issuing a sympathy ban.

these people can be grouped in sevral diffrent catagories ranging from beer weed to trolls.
“he never learns, he is getting flamed right and left.”

“yeah man, he’s such flame bait.”
another stupid meme probably popularized by all those no-life leet speakers at 4chan, meaning members that get easily “trolled” or some internet sh-t like that.
if you wanted to insult me for the inaccuracy of above definition, the definition was is an example of successful flamebait.
a frequent user of many message boards and battle.net that prefers to talk about s-x, and un-interesting, inane topics. these topics frequently suggest brain damage.
