Fobbit

a term used to describe soldiers in iraq that rarely if ever leave the relative safety of the forward operating base (fob). this is a perjoritive term used by soldiers that spend a lot of time outside the wire beaing shot at and dodging road-side bombs, for those soldiers that live a safer and more comfortable life.
the d-mn fobbits all seem to be getting the new armor before we do, and they don’t even need it.

“fufb!” a chalk message on my platoons vehicles that loosely translates to “f#@k you fobbits!
the name of those who choose to stay on base rather than run missions on a fob (forward operating base). term usually used for grunts when talking about the annoying admin guy.

an acronym for fat old balding blokes in tee shirts.

when internet chatroom regulars meet up for a social occasion, the older, fatter men will often dress in tee-shirts to try and appear younger. the tee-shirts are invariably black or very dark (with some trendy picture or humorous comment) to try to hide their spreading girth.

they might be trolling on-line, but they dress as fobbits when you meet them.

it’s a waste of time you trying to buy tee-shirts in trendy shops – they don’t cater for fobbits.
human being who need a lot of help and the only way they think they can accomplish it is by asking. they have no shame in seeming like idiots simply because they are too ignorant to see it. this term degrades those who do not know much and is pretty rude.

any person who is in the military, but who when deployed, stays on tha fob (forward operating base) and never crosses the wire where it’s actaully dangerous. mostly used in a derogatory fashion by those who actually do risk their lives. most marines and soldiers aren’t fobbits. most of the air force are fobbits except for vehicle operators.(go veh ops!!!!!), security forces and special forces. and the navy well who cares about tha navy theyre all gay anyway.

that fobbit never has to ruck or dodge bullets. i wish i had his job.
