Friend of Borat
an alternative use of the acronym fob, which usually means “fresh off the boat,” this is a takeoff from the gay euphamism friend of dorothy.
“friend of borat” is a little -ssymetrical in comparison with “friend of dorothy” because an un-ssimilated immigrant would not actually be a fan of borat in the way that a gay would be fond of judy garland, but the phrase has stuck nonetheless.
“that guy is a total fob.”
“fresh off the boat?”
“no, a friend of borat.”
“oh, good one.”
