agamemnon was the leader of the ancient greek army. he sacrificed his daughter iphigenia to the goddess artemis in order to get the weather to cooperate so his army could sail to troy.
it is to commit so much to achieving a goal that it is unthinkable to not achieve it as you cannot recover. it is important to remember to never go full agamemnon.
