a phrase used by elite musicians to describe/initiate the surfing of the world wide web to gain further information about a variety of gear-related studies and professionals.
these studies may include:
-technical knowledge about equipment.
-studio specifications.
-old/new methods of recording and editing sound.
-stalking of other fellow musicians (past and present).
-building up a superior lingo about everyday things i.e “attenuate the volume of the nearfields”
“it’s time to go on a gear rampage!”
“i found the perfect guitar during a gear rampage today!”
musician:”how come you know so much about these thing?”
elite musician:”it’s taken me many years of gear rampaging”
“you got ripped off paying so much for that microphone. did you even go on a gear rampage before you bought it?”
