dating back to the late 1700s was a family who were often found in groups preying on other people of inferior intelligence. often mocking and having fun at the other people’s expense. correcting them when they were frequently wrong.
it is said that when found alone or very small groups they could appear to be sympathetic to others ill informed ideas or thoughts. but quickly gather almost out of thin air to har-ss and berate people of lesser intelligence. tolerable in small groups but ruthless in large numbers much like a wolf pack.
