a person who has a bad reputation for one (at least partly) excusable vice or bad deed, in spite of having several virtues, or having performed several good deeds.
as in the following joke:
an old man walks into a pub in scottland, his feet shuffling, his back bent. he drags himself onto a stool and orders a beer. placing the full gl-ss in front of him, the bartender inquires upon his sad face.
the man answers with a smoky and trembling voice and a scottish accent:

another word for a goatee. legend has it that in ancient day rome when a beard was a symbol of power and manhood, when a man was caught f-cking a goat, the villagers would hold him down and shave off the sides of his beard, leaving him with what today is known as a goatee. then all the villagers would know that this man was a goatf-cker because of the ‘goatf-cker’ he wore on his face. this would bring the goatf-cker much shame.
