grace period
the grace period is the range of time before or between significant occurrences, often spent antic-p-ting the subsequent event to take place.
between cl-sses, students usually have a grace period before the bell rings for the start of the next cl-ss.
approximately 3-6 pm is the usual grace period before hanging out at night.
