Haxby
haxby is a village in north yorkshire, england, just outside york. it means a safe haven, the sort of place that’s never going to get too exciting but it’s nice to come home to – and then leave again. if you want an adventurous life you wouldn’t want to live there, but you’d be glad if your mum/aunt/uncle did because then you could go back and visit when the big wide world gets too scary.
wow – after being chased by those natives in papua new guinea, it was great to reach a real haxby and get my breath back.
we hadn’t exactly found a haxby, because there were scorpions around, but the oasis made a nice change nevertheless.
he’s so dull – he’ll never even think to leave his haxby.
