term used to describe when a person is in the unfortunate position of observing :

1)a co worker get and accept all the credit for the hard work they both performed

2)a close pal win the lottery
as paul accepted all the kudos and the bonus for the success of the project ,carl just did some “heavy looking on”…
to let others do all the work while you watch; to do nothing but observe others working;
leaning on a shovel instead of using it; most of the road crew did the heavy looking on while the new guy dug the hole.
