acronym for hidden league gaming. hlg is a group of gamers on games like halo, call of duty, and gears of war, and what they do is take the lead in a multiplayer game early, and then hide for the rest of the game so the opposing team can’t kill them. whether this is achieved by finding exploits in the map and hiding in seemingly unreachable areas, or by finding really intricate hiding spots, it is considered cowardly and cheap to do.
many people think hlg is cowardly or cheap because instead of playing the match normally, they hide for the rest of the match to get the win. basically, hlg is an extreme form of camping.
a derogatory name for hlg is hiding like girls.
gamer: wow, way to just hide for the whole game after getting the first kill you coward.
hlg gamer: it’s called hlg deal with it.
gamer: what does that stand for, hiding like girls?
