when a politician strategically responds to a humans of new york post in order to cover up for the bad things they’ve done. similar to pinkwashing or whitewashing but instead using hony (humans of new york) to achieve a certain end.
hillary clinton demonstrated honywashing during her run for 2016 presidency when she responds to a hony about a gay child fearing for his future. many people praised her reaching comment, effectively erasing her 2004 statement that marriage is between a man and a woman.
