a picture taken by a patient in the intensive care unit of a hospital often featuring intubation tubes, iv lines, etc. these pictures are then posted on social media in a narcissistic, self-absorbed attempt to generate sympathy and/or pity and of the course the much coveted “likes” that will be so important at the end of one’s life.
my old cl-ssmate from wharton just posted an icu selfie. it felt kind of creepy, but i “liked” it anyway.
