1. acronym for indian inst-tutes of technology – joint entrance examination. a multiple choice test in physics, chemistry and maths taken by high-school (grade 12) students who seek admission into the 7 iits – which are considered india’s best engineering inst-tutes. the iit-jee is considered one of the toughest exams in the world with about 720,000 students competing for 6000 seats
