term used within the complex exchange system established by the spanish for african trade; referred to the value of an adult male slave.
spanish colonist: “a yo, how much for dat young indies piece right durr?”
slave trader: ” ay man i got a real deal for you dawg, you know dem royal african company be sellin dem for £300, but ima be you’s brother and sell you that young piece for £50.
spanish colonist: ” sheeiiiit mannn yous got a deal!” -hands 50 fresh ones-
slave trader: ” aight thanks man keep it cool.”
