color-treated hair with at least 2″ or 3″ of contrasting natural hair color “roots” prominently visible – especially blond hair with dark “roots”. typically observed in newspaper photos of individuals, most frequently women, about to go on trial after spending a few months in jail without access to hair color. also observed in wal-mart and grocery store checkout lines.
check out that jail hair – i always suspected that she was a bleach blond.
