jumpen
a popular dutch-belgian dance style, often done by children and teenagers between 10 and 18 years old. children do it often at school, and teenagers at ‘jumpbattles’ at the local disco. there are a few disciplines; solo jump, duo jump and multiple jump. the footwork is very important, but you also have to keep your arms in control while you’re doing ‘jumpen’. these days, jumpen is sometimes mixed with the french tecktonik dance style. there are also held ‘tecktonik-jumpen’ compet-tions.
