this was a newspaper comic strip that first appeared in the 1930s. later it became a radio program, a series of movies, and eventually a tv show that lasted only a single season. the movies and the tv show both starred johnny weissmuller (who also played tarzan in several moves during that same period of time). jungle jim was a hunter, not a “n-ble savage” like tarzan.
i remember visiting my cousins in los angeles in 1956 and watching jungle jim on television.
