the owing of a favor or other positive courtesy, based on someone doing something helpful or positive for you, without you having the opportunity to return the gesture, either due to circ-mstances or because such returns are declined.
a: dude, someone just returned the wallet i lost, credit cards and everything still in it!
b: did they leave their name or number?
a: nope, nothing. guess i’ve racked up some karma debt.
