the female protagonist in the hunger games. she ends up being the mockingjay and starts the rebellion against the capitol. she is in love with peeta mellark and for a short while in a love triangle with peeta mellark and gale hawthorne. she ends up with peeta. katniss loves her sister, prim, very much. katniss is shown to be very strong, good at archery, and hunting.

an amazing, intelligent and extremely brave young woman who sacrifices herself for the people she loves. she is a fighter and has an interesting story as well as a love triangle which actually makes sense, unlike the obvious edward – obsessed one from twilight. also, katniss has a powerful skill and is both a talented archer and an athletic person.
she is a role model for young girls, regarding her courageous, quick thinking att-tude, and her ultimate non – dependency on men. even better, katniss everdeen is portrayed by the wonderful, hilarious jennifer lawrence, who never fails to make people smile.
