british synth-pop artist who became popular in 1980 with the release of her single “kids in america” followed by her self-t-tled alb-m which released a year later. until her fifth alb-m, “another step,” all of her songs were written by her father and brother and in her fourth alb-m “teases and dares” there are even a few songs which she wrote herself. most of her works consist of a unique blend of synthesizers and guitars which sets itself apart from most other music of the period. she is still popular in europe and released her latest alb-m, “never say never” in 2006.

although originally written by diana ross and the supremes in 1966, kim wilde’s release of “you keep me hangin’ on” twenty years later still brings in additional audiences to her music and 80’s pop culture in general. along with that particular track, she is also very well-known around the world for her original compositions, such as 1981’s smash hit “kids in america”.

to “kim wilde” someone, you have many options. theoretically, all that’s required is either your prolonged response to a question (after, of course, you keep them hangin’ on for a bit) or your prolonged presence in a situation that requires you to physically be there (i.e. picking someone up from school/work and being late in doing so.)
