the reason the swagger clause exists in compet-tive pokemon matches.
it is a steel/fairy type gen 6 pokemon that looks like a key ring. it is #707 on the national pokedex. it can have the ability prankster (gives priority to status moves) or its hidden ability, magician (steals held item of a pokemon it attacks)
guy 1: why can’t i use swagger in uber format?
guy 2: blame klefki. it can use it to make the target hit themselves 50% of the time with +1 attack to hurt themselves with more damage. with thunder wave, it can make the target unable to move at all another 50% of the time. if evasion clause wasn’t a thing, it could use double team to make itself even harder to hit.
guy 1: gee, i can’t imagine getting my -ss swept by that key.
