district of berlin, germany. sometimes referred to as “little istanbul”. traditionally well-known nationwide for the country’s highest density of punks, anarchists, system-critics and döner kebap stalls, although first traces of gentrification can be observed all over the place. popular for lively bar and club scene beyond mainstream, and ill-reputated for its may 1st riots that draw tens of thousands of police into the city every year. most likely the next big thing for north american exchange students taking a year off in berlin.
