professional basketball player for four nba teams during his 14-year career, including 4 los angeles laker championship teams. an exemplary team player and fan favorite, rambis was beloved for his hard-nosed play, dorky eyewear, dubious haircuts, and adorning his house’s bathroom with a shower rug taken from a hotel. rambis, who retired as a player after the 1995 season, would later be welcomed back as the lakers’ head coach.
