a child born to parents of different races, such as a half white/half black, or half white/half asian, half white/half mexican, half white/half puerto rican, etc. best used to describe a mulatto child (half white/half black) because of its deriving from a swirl ice cream cone (vanilla/chocolate); however, in today’s age, it can be used to describe any mixed-breed offspring, or as it is called in modern times, bi-racial child.
