liversedge
liversedge is a suburb of the yorkshire town of dewsbury. it is widely recognised for its high number of instances of coronary heart disease due to the consumption of a cooked meat residue known as “mucky fat” which is commonly eaten with a large spoon or spread on a barm cake. liversedge also has england’s highest instance per capita of strabismus, sufferers of which are otherwise known as being “b-g eyed”.
i went to liversedge and encountered a gentleman who exclaimed: “ee by eck lad a can’t see ma mucky fat b-tty on account o’ma b-g eye”.
