livestrong

a yellow bracelet that everyone wears and half of them doesn’t even know that its to support cancer
hey mista ill buy that livestrong from you for 20 bux even though i no its only worth 1… yay im coooool!
the mantra of lance armstrong, 6 time tour de france winner and cancer surivor.

livestrong is found on yellow wrist bands which are worn to show support for the laf (lance armstrong foundation). supporting their goal to enhance the lives of those people living with cancer!

not just a silly yellow wristband!!
“yellow wakes me up in the morning
yellow gets me on the bike every day
yellow has taught me the true meaning of sacrifice
yellow has made me suffer
yellow is the reason i am here”
lance armstrong 7 year cancer survivor
a small yellow bracelet that has become upwardly popular due to m-ss media. once designed to represent the fight for cancer, it has since been adopted by any fad followers who have little to no real style.

a good idea gone horribly wrong.
is that a livestrong bracelet?

no, this is a breastcancer bracelet?

oh, pardon. i didn’t know the difference.
n: 1. yellow identification bracelet for fad-worshippers, presumed athletes, moral authorities, lemmings, sheep, and ducks.

2. motto of lance armstrong (cyclist, texan, cancer survivor, republican) and his devoted legion. it is also the name of what started as a charity drive but soon devolved into an insidious pr stunt. at press time, it’s safe to say that livestrongmania has peaked. fewer people are wearing them and fewer still (laggards) are buying them.

seeing someone sporting the ‘livestrong’ is very helpful, because it may save you from having to talk to them for 10 minutes to figure out that they are a t-ss-r.

note:the bracelet may have magical powers, because it seems its wearers are bestowed with infinite wisdom, crystalline moral values, and certain athletic prowace.

markings: livestrongers are a varied group, but you will note everything from hats with fraternity letters to polo shirts with the logo of some software company on it. favorite brands include nike, abercrombie and fitch, eddie bauer, and gap.

their worksp-ce is likely to have not fewer than 40 pictures of their children nestled among various inspriational quotes and motivational posters.

their vehicle of choice is likely an suv or some volvo wagon, and will almost certainly have a vanity plate with the person’s nickname on it. it will be covered with stickers pledging allegiance to the president, stickers heralding the academic achievements of their children, and stickers to let fellow motorists know that they take holiday on nantucket or the outer banks.

habits: if you encounter a livestronger and you are not wearing the bracelet yourself, you will get a smug “tsk tsk” look while inside they quietly judge you. many of them suffer from a dehabilitating form of ocd where they cannot spend 5 waking minutes without checking their mobile.
when i saw the 4 year old in the stroller wearing a livestrong bracelet, i knew it was time to take mine off.
what began as an awesome idea to support the lance armstrong foundation for cancer, the word livestrong can be found on yellow rubber bracelets that just about everyone seems to be wearing. since it’s creation, other foundations for just about everything have ripped off the idea and made braclets of their own, except sell them for way more than just $1.
supporter of lance armstrong: “alright! i finally got my livestrong band and i’m supporting cancer research!”
wannabe: “yeah? well i got one for lukiemia, our troops, heart disease, diabetes, gay rights and mickey mouse! go me!”
supporter of lance armstrong: “…how special…”
a yellow bracelet made by lance armstrong. they cost $1 and 97 cents of that one dollar goes tohelping the fight against cancer. apparently some jack-sses on this site do not know what it’s for. it has become somewhat of a fad but either way, it’s helping the fight against cancer
i have 2 livestrongs, i never take them off
an arm band that not just is in support of cancer, but is also here to tell everyone that even in the worst of times to livestrong because one day everything will be all better and you wont have any worries, but for right now livestrong and keep going
you have to livestrong.
