cafe where the waitress dress up in maid uniform and address customers as ‘master’ or ‘mistress.’ this practice is common in j-pan and other east/south asian countries. the theme of the cafe is predominately anime/manga and the customers are otaku.
when you walk into the maid cafe, maids will say “welcome home master”
they perform varieties of services, such as ear cleaning, spoon-feeding, photo-taking, playing card and having conversation with maids.
for unknown reason, this is not considered a form of prost-tution.
