n. a tagalog word which translates to “struggle and revolution” that is now used regularly in the filipino american community as a word of empowerment.
adj. someone who can be described as an activist in the filipino american community. sometimes viewed as militant and ethnocentric.
when i went to the protest, you could feel the makibaka in the air.
