a guy that helps you stay sober and helps you to not start drinking again……an ex-alcoholic´s best friend……some do it for free, others have to get payed to do it…..mostly if they are hired by pro-sports teams.

when a man and women have an infant together and they want to leave the house for a very short time. generally its a friend of the man, who is also male will man-sit for the couple. this particular male cannot for all purposes do anything except call the couple if the baby starts crying.
laura: honey, i am going to the drug store down the street for a minute.
joe: ok i will go with you. mike will be our man-sitter.
laura: i’m not sure about that.
joe: don’t worry we will only be gone for 15 minutes and he will call us if the baby does anything.
