maychaps
a combination not unlike mayhaps of the words “perhaps,” “perchance,” and “maybe.” there exists some mild disagreement about the degree of commitment which the word implies. some contend that it is merely an evasive or wispy response, while others feel that it exudes a more definite tone that merely the words “maybe” or “perhaps” by themselves.
store owner: “we are offering an exclusive bargain sale on dead parrots today. would you be interested in purchasing one, my good squire?”
customer: “hmm. maychaps.”
