megatokyo effect
the name for the downturn almost all webcomics suffer from when they start out wacky and absurd and slowly turn annoying, serious and soap opera esque.
named after the now cr-ppy webcomic megatokyo.
i used to love reading johnny the squirrel because of all the jokes and references, but now the megatokyo effect took hold and it’s about the cartoonist’s girl problems now.
