something that is required to be completed or carried out, obligatory or essential but which one cannot be bothered to do or is directly rebelling against by not completing.
i was told that i would have to finish all the required reading for my university course but i blagged my way through to a degree by only reading half of the recommended books so they were obviously mehcessary weren’t they?
