mexican snow
in southern california you will only find snow in the mountains. the first area where snow is, generally the wettest snow, is the mexican snow. socioeconomically, this is as far as they can go into the snowpack as their vehicles aren’t equipped to go further up the mountain because of ice and heavier snow requiring 4×4 vehicles.
the traffic coming up the hill was awful! but once we got past the mexican snow, it got a lot better.
