midrange scoop
also mid scoop. an equalizer setting used for electric amplified instruments. the midrange frequencies are cut off/scooped out. used to make the sound fatter, especially for b-ss slapping and hard overdriven guitar riffing.
you can get an awesome heavy metal sound with a high amount of distorsion and a midrange scoop.
