mirage effect

when youre sitting in a bar and you spot a good looking girl. the mirage effect comes into play when you spot her. more often than not, this girl is going to seem much finer than she really is. picture yourself in a desert, thirsty for water. you find a bottle of dirty evian. this bottle seems much more attractive, and so you fall for the mirage effect.
-dude that bird is fiiiiiine!
-dude i totally know

two hours later, to a third dude

-dude you see that bird?
-ye, nice!
-hmm not really…are you sure you didnt just fall for the me (=mirage effect).
