a south african slang word meaning a guy who dresses and acts like a girl. it does not necessarily refer to all gay men but rather to those who display female tendencies i.e. drag queens and cross-dressers etc.
hey scott, was that a skirt i saw you wearing yesterday, and with your hair all done up? you looked like a moffie!!!

when a very masculine, stright guy has a crush on another stright guy. it is usually said in a joking manner, but the use of this word most often sends the two men into a state of denial, anger, and indignity. which, i might add, is rather fun to watch.
“hey david? what were you and tyler doin’ over there? if i didn’t know better, i’d say you were a bit moffie for him, david.”
“what?…no!…we were just…(general male stammering and muttering)…were not!…”
