playful moniker of the state of utah reflecting its strong mormon traditions and customs; consequently salt lake city is often known as mormonabad. both terms employ the persian suffixes “stan” and “bad” meaning “land of” and “city of” respectively.
1. i hiked the rugged and breathtaking mountains of mormonistan all day before retiring to mormonabad.
