a multicultural princess movie is (generally an animated) film made in the usa that places an ethnic “minority” in the position of princess in order to accomplish three goals: 1. satisfy tokenism in the guise of “keeping it real.” 2. make money from guilty white people who crave seeing ethnicities in positions of power. 3. give a thin and brittle veneer of newness to hopelessly old fairy tale story lines.
i think mulan is the greatest multicultural princess movie.
