Native Hunter Senses

noun. senses in which one is hyper aware of everything around them, including shadows and sounds that are really nothing. these senses are commonly activated at night when one is scared awake, and continues to sit in bed listening to nothing but thinking it’s something. native hunter senses earns its name from the native hunter instincts in us all, inherited from our distant african ancestors who had to be hyper aware of their surroundings during a hunt in order to avoid attacks from vicious jungle animals and hostile rival tribes.
i swear i heard someone trying to break into my house last night, but luckily my native hunter senses kicked in and, even though it ended up just being wind, i was prepared for an attack.
