a person who is crabby, generally unpleasant, and constantly giving off negativity.
first coined in the 1980s british comedy “the young ones” by character neil, who complained that a negative vibe merchant had boarded up his bedroom. later used in the mid-90s by the band 311 in their song “misdirected hostility.”
